Why wont car ac work?

(2011-07-12 14:20:07) 1. Sam Smith Says: the ac worked fine yesterday but now only blows out hot air. the fuse is new and the compressor seems to come on but only barely. whats the problem?2. Bluto B Says: The accumulator has stopped accumulating and the condenser has it out for the expansion valve which has made the evaporator nervous to the point where it wants to run to the dryer.
Really impossible to tell without running some tests that DO require special tools and training. A qualified Automotive A/C repair facility is your cheapest and best solution. I would take it to an AC Shop for a diagnostic, they are generaly around $100 to troubleshoot the issue. If they say its the compressor, and you are a handy person, have them drain the refigerant and replace it yourself, then have them charge it back up properly.
