How much more fuel in % does the car consume when the Air Conditioner is ON ?

1. Sevim Tac Says: Some maybe like 2% but not enogh to be concerned about as long as everthing is set properly and tuned up.

2. gee-man Says: A trivial amount, considering that it will also consume more fuel if you just roll down the windows.

Several cars run the A/C when you might not expect it - for instance, when the defroster is on. (Which makes sense, really, since the A/C removes moisture, and moisture is what's causing the fog.)

3. Windowphobe Says: I've read for an average car, 3%, from the AA figures a couple of years ago. If I remember right.
