What is the expected engine life for the inlne 5-cylinder (2.5L) that in the newer Jetta?

1. Beer Guns Trailers Says: As long as the oil is changed, the timing belt and water pump taken care of, and not overheated or abused, I would say about 300,000 miles. It is a very reliable engine.

2. Motorhead Says: Same as any other engine(V8 or 4 cylinder) about 100K miles and then it needs a check over all of it as parts do wear out(such as valves and rings) timing belt. No engine is meant to go forever. Manufacturers can't make any money that way.
