High end torque vs low end torque vs Horsepower?

WRC is now playing in a 4-speed boxes, because they are able to increase torque, enough to save them all on the march. The theory is changed to avoid the change in phase of times faster than the driver is not so often marches.

In other words, you can always use a gearbox and clutch "swap" power to the couple. An extreme example of this was the 12 gear bikes run on the Isle of Man TT in the 60's. They had a little band of usable power and almost no torque, so the riders the tools used to keep the engine in that narrow band.
