Brake Lights Won't Turn Off?

1. myjesusisgood44 Says: My 1994 Honda Accord Lx Brake Lights wont shut off. I seen that there was a broken rubber piece on my floor mat Idk if that has anything to do with it or not but they will not shut off at all. I have tried pushing on the brake really hard and nothing. So please help I have to get to work tomorrow.
2. James H Says: There is a switch above the pedal and a plastic holder for the switch. It sounds like that plastic holder for teh switch is broken. Its an easy fix and you can get the part at the dealer and install it yourself. Should be under $10.00
3. it's him Says: Some cars have a brake light switch located under the steering column. It may need to be reset or replaced. Others have the switch located on the brake master cylinder under the hood. Look where you fill it with brake fluid. If you see wires on the master that's you switch. Pull the switch plug off and see when you lights go out.
4. USA Says: is it the handbrake light (red) that comes on when the handbrake is pulled or the abs (antilock braking system light..usually yellow)
5. gee-man Says: it is the brake light switch down behind the brake pedal under the dash by the steering column.
6. bandit_60 Says: check the brake light switch up by the brake pedal, it could be it needs adjusted.
