The Z Man Says: I put in my new stereo today and I can the radio for a while, while I waxed my car. Then I go to actually turn the car on and I get a check engine light. Hook the car battery up to a charger and turn the car on, works then. but will it last? My dad things it will work ... but I don't want to be stuck in middle of **** and wave someone for a hookup.

justme Says: Listening to the radio for a few hours should not normally discharge a fully charged battery, so the battery may be failing anyway. Also, if you only connected to a charger long enough to start the car, there will not be enough charge in it; you need to drive around for at least 1/2 an hour to get a decent charge in it.

Amber Says: Yea, it should be fully charged again. But, it matters what your battery life is. Mine died and had to be replaced after only three years. You could go to autozone and have them check your battery life for free. They did that for me and if you need a new one you can buy one from there.
