I have a question about my cars system?

1. DC Says: I got a system a week or so ago. A ten inch rockfOrd Fosgate sub with a scorpion box and a Sony xplod 800 watt amp. I figured out when I installed it that the sub cuts out at high volumes.

It's not the ground, not the power protector or anything like that. I found out today that the fuse is popped. It's not blown out but when my friend that had it before me was jamming out it popped. And he said that it still worked but cuts out at high volume.

Basically the question is, is it possible the popped (but not blown out fuse) is the reason the sub cuts out.?
2. Gophuk Yerselv Says: Did you install a capacitor? If not, there's your issue.... That or you're using the wrong size conductors. Amps will go into low voltage mode and shut off until the voltage goes back over 12.5 V. A capacitor pretty much stores power for instances when it needs an extra little push. This reduces voltage drops. Also a wire that's too small can cause too much resistance therefore dropping the voltage.

Use 4 ga. wires and a 75 amp fuse. If you're going for a very long run (over 15 feet), use 2 ga wires.

Wait, what the hell do you mean by "popped but not blown out"?
