1999 Camry LE Question. Please help.?
(2011-07-26 14:20:08) 1. Says: I need to replace the Vapor Canister (also known as EVAP Canister/ Charcoal Canister) in my 1999 Camry LE cuz of a P0446 and P0441 Engine error code. Since I'm pretty much determined to buy a new car in a year or 2 I wanna just swap a canister from a junk yard car. It'll save me atleast $200-$300. Now I was wondering if I could swap in a 1998 Camry Vapor Canister in my 99 Camry. Anyone know? Please help. R junk yard parts reliable?2. Says: "R junk yard parts reliable?"Are USED parts reliable?
A friend of mine who owned a salvage yard had a sign that read; "You are running on used parts now aren't you?"
Salvage yards are a great source for cheap, useable parts. Look here; http://car-part.com/ Look under Vapor Canister. There are a few listed, all for 99 models though so I doubt other years would interchange.
Look up also a door, or engine or something close to home. That will let you know that a yard close by has a 99 Camry and may have that canister. Those thing rarely got bought at the salvage yards, so they don't get listed. Find yards with the cars, then give them a call.3.
