Revving Dodge Challenger in neutral caused a check engine light and wouldn't accelerate?

1. tommaso Says: Hello, I have a 2011 Challenger. It is an automatic. I put the car in neutral while waiting and as the car was moving slowly, and revved it up and put it in drive.

Then the check engine light came on (MIL), and the car wouldn't accelerate, like it was in neutral.

Any ideas, (car was alright after putting on again)
2. Muff Cabbage Says: did you wait for your rpms to drop before shifting it into drive? neutral drops are a very, very bad thing for your transmission. i doubt you broke anything serious, my guess is that your ECU is playing games with you. call the mopar dealer and explain, they know your car's computer better than anyone on here.
3. Mel Cerullo Says: YOU'VE PROBABLY JUST CONFUSED THE COMPUTER TEMPORARILY. IT SHOULD BE FINE, THEY'RE PRETTY TOUGH... IF ANYTHING HAPPENS YOU SHOULD STILL HAVE WARRANTY ON IT.

DON'T DO IT AGAIN!
4. Googlybear Says: look for a fuse that breaks out of your wiring harness. under the hood. i bet it popped.
