How much does it cost to replace a muffler in a 2002 ford explorer?

andy33020 Says: You may not need a muffler, maybe just a part of the exhaust pipe. Go to a local owned, not Midas national shop, where they will put the suv up on the rack and you can see where it needs to be fixed. A small section of pipe welded in would cost maybe $25, a muffler maybe $50. If anyone tries to sell a complete system for more than $100 run away fast.
