Emergency my car is jacked up! Cannot turn off Horn, wipers, and headlights?
(2011-08-05 14:20:21) 1. Says: This morning I replaced my left component speaker. well after I figured out my speaker wouldn't fit without modification, I put everything back to normal cause I didn't have time to fit them in. well after everything was done I went inside and a minuet later I heard my Horn going off. I went outside and found that my horn was on full blast (constant, no honking like alarm) and my headlights were fully on. I tried unlocking my door with the key and remote to turn it on, but nothing worked. The engine turns on and and when it does everything continues and the wipers start and cant be turned off. I took out the horn fuse to at least get that to stop but everything else continues.I really need any kinda help I can get on this one. Thanks to everyone2. Says: You don't give much information as to the year and type of car, but many of the newer ones have some very sophisticated anti-theft and theft-deterrent systems built into them. Some of these systems are routed through the audio system. It is quite possible you somehow compromised the wiring for the audio system in such a way that the alarm believes someone is attempting to steal your vehicle. In order to correct the problem you may need to take the vehicle to the dealer. A good quality stereo shop may be of some assistance as well. They, more than likely, have encountered similar problems. Good luck.3. Says: Did you reconnect speaker and ground correctly, possible shorted wire behind door panel , try removing speaker and see if car works ok. But really never heard of this problem before and worked on autos for over 40 yrs. But one always starts from where problem possibly started. Good Luck, You may have activated alarm some how if connected to radio.4. Says: Apparently you have put in a wire that connects terminals that should not be connected.
