Another short ram question?

1. Austin Says: i am getting a short ram regardless, if it sucks ill return it. but my question is does it come with a heat shield???? and if u could please tell me all of the pros and cons.

2. N T Says: Cons? If it's an NA Motor it doesn't really matter. Call the company and ask if it comes with a heat shield. Good luck trying to make your Honda seem cool.

3. Michael Says: It doesn't matter whether it has a heat shield or not, it is seriously inferior to the one that came on your car. The factory intake is a cold air intake; short rams are throwbacks to the days when engines sucked hot air from above the engine. That is why aftermarket cold air intakes were popular back then; they were a lot better than hot air intakes (like the short ram is). Since about 1990 all cars (unless there is an oddball out there somewhere) have been made with cold air intakes and there are really no aftermarket cold air intakes that are an improvement.

4. n Says: Some comes with one and some doesnt.

I would go with a cold air intake instead. It might take a few more minutes to install but it's worth it.
