First Car for my Son?

(2011-08-14 14:30:04)
1. Seun Aderin Says: I have promised my son if hes Grade Point Average is over 3.5 i will get him a good car, i have an 09 bmw x5 xdrive 4.8 and i love it, so i want to get him a bmw, but not an x5, because it is a little big for him and i dont need him driving the same car as me, but i have narrowed my choices down to 2 vehicles:

2009 BMW 335i sedan
2009 BMW 335i convertible

I love the sedan because it has the updated shape and space for 5, well 4 real passengers, but i also love the convertible because it is a convertible, and they are into those type of cars

His Birthday is August 29th and would love to get it for him before he starts college

Thank You
2. Joe Stockmaster Says: I'd stick with the Sedan. Convertibles always seem great in the showroom, but aren't so lovely in real life.

Damn, i wish my parents did the same thing. With my 4.0 gpa I'd probably have myself a Rolls or something haha.
3. Drew Deters Says: My dad said if I want a car I should get a job. Iv been saving since I was 10. Most teens wreck their first vehicle, and BMW's have the most expensive parts there is. I don't think you wanna replace parts. Get him a car that's reliable and good on gas, let him drive it for a while, then he can get a luxury car.
4. taylor g Says: You don't write like someone who would own 3 Beemers. and buying your kid a Beemer just because he is doing something he 'should' be doing is crazy, What are you reinforcing here. Your lack of time spent with him or that he will forever think you owe him everything.
5. ¬_¬ ☻_mù→♣ Says: A sedan would be better in my opinion because of the roof, it makes it faster than a convertible. but at least he can put a roof up in the convertible, so either way it wont matter, except for the seats, he might as well take the sedan.
6. Forreal Says: Depends on where you live. If you live in a place where it's warm most of the year, I'd go for the convertible.
7. Iceman50 Says: 1) figure out which one has the best gas mileage
2) get his opinion that way he will work harder for "his" car
8. Hernandez Rhodes Says: Convertible so it is good for summer and winter if ac breaks
