Car salesman lied about MY car history?

(2011-08-14 14:30:08)
1. LO Says: I went to a dealership today to look at some options for a new car. I was wondering how much I could trade my current car in for, so he got my info and did the math. He told me the value would go down considering the accident it's been in...thing is I've never been in an accident. I bought it NEW in 2003. Why would he say something like that?
2. Robert Says: Either he just trying to convince you it is worth less so he can make more money, or the Car Fax for you car has an incorrect entry saying it was in an accident.
3. whocares Says: Maybe it had been in an accident prior to you buying it ?

Maybe its just a full of it salesman trying to bring you down to earth on your cars real value.

Lots of people are funny about their trade in.

If they think its a $4000 car and you offer them $800 for it, you've lost a sale.

The dealer down the road shows them $4800 trade in but jacks up the price of the new car by $4000 to make up for it and gets the sale.
4. Sarah Abdel-Sattar Says: because sometimes people want to lie because they want the money or the manger thought that that employee is not good at his or her job so u maybe thought its true and have purchased the car and then the manger then will not fire that employee.
5. Rob R Says: Who cares? Go to a different dealership...problem solved.

Get over it and move on with your life.
