Iris Kay Says: And then they said that the took out the motor and put a new one in.... and got new tires, put on new brakes...... does this sound fishy to you? or am i just over thinking thinks, i need a car right now and its only 3100, should i get it or not? help

Mark F Says: You should run, not walk from anything that f---ed up. Besides, a 99' Explorer is a money pit. Lots of very expensive things wear out on those trucks after 10-12 years. For 3 grand you can do WAY better.

Ashh Says: sounds like a load of bull. you have to drop a new trany in and alter the tires and a lot of things to convert it into a 2wd. wtf. why would they even do that? 4wd cars are way better. you can go faster, take turns faster, they last longer, they are better in the snow and rain and their breaks are really good because of the abs. plus you can drift.

bandit_60 Says: i would,nt buy it. sounds like too many hands were in it.when i buy a 4 wheel drive i want a 4 wheel drive, not a 2 wheel drive. keep on looking.
5.
Dave Says: they might not have taken the 4 wheel drive, they might have just taken the front drive shaft out basically making it a 2 wheel drive
6.
Bones Says: They can do all this but if they haven't changed the transmission and other critical parts that are imperative to the drive train, avoid it like the plague.
7.
furrytomato Says: Doing major changes to a car like that could be problematic so I would stay away from it
