California Car Dealership Fees?

(2011-08-22 14:30:07)
1. Hana Says: Hi, I am going to the Honda Dealership in Southern California tomorrow and would like to find out more about the types of fees I will be required to pay.

The offer I see online is the 2011 Honda Accord Coupe 5 Speed Automatic LX-S for lease. It says: $0 due a lease signing (excludes taxes, titles, and dealer fees), $0 security deposit, $0 down payment, $0 first month payment, and $270 per month for 35 months thereafter. After all these deals, what fees should I be charged for?

I know that I should be charged for the tax of the car and some other fees that I am not aware of.

Also, what is the current documentation fee for the state of California? Can it be negotiable between me and the salesman?

I would highly appreciate your response! It would help me a lot. Thank you.
2. whocares Says: Taxes tend to run 8-10% in CA.

Title fee is probably $16.50-75.00.

Doc fee is not set by the state but dealers can charge whatever you will pay. I would guess many are in the $249-799 range.

Everything is negotiable but they wont remove it, just lower the price if they do agree to lower it.

It means you will have to pay ALL the taxes, title & doc fee upfront.

Only people with very good credit & jobs can qualify. Not in the top 25%, don't bother.

That usually means mid 20s with several years on the job & prior car & credit card loans.
