Is it still necessary to break-in a new car?
(2011-09-02 14:20:19) 1. Says: I just got a 2012 Volkswagen GTI. I don't see anything in the manual about breaking in the engine. So do new cars even need this procedure anymore? I don't plan on racing or anything like that, I just enjoy quick accelerations from time to time so I wanted to know if doing so will be bad for the car at this stage.2. New cars don't even have to go through this technical procedure. Accelerating once in a while won't damage the engine at this stage. Happy speeding!..3. I would do the 1st oil change at 500 miles but still watch the rpms on the tach, then after that drive normally.good luck.......4.
