Adjusting mirrors correctly for driving?
(2011-09-06 14:20:08) 1. Says: I'm currently learning to drive. Just started to do a few maneuvers, including turn in the road and left reverse and I was just wondering what it is I should be able to see out of my left mirror. I thought my mirrors were fine up until I started maneuvers. In both my side mirrors I have clear vision of what is up the road behind me and I can also see the sides of my car. However, when reversing whilst carrying out a turn in the road, should I be able to see roughly where my left back wheel is in relation to the curb.
At the moment I have to estimate it all the time and I usually stop too soon or not soon enough.
Any hints or tips? thanks x2. Says: just keep in mind that when reversing whilst carrying out a turn in the road to the left, you should be able to turn exactly on the same moment when you can,t see curb anymore from the left side mirror.3. Says: Your mirrors are fine. You will soon learn where the back wheels are as well as the rest of the car without needing to see them in the mirror.
Remember, some vans and larger lorries only see halfway down their back but the drivers have no problems reversing.
KD4. Says: This is something you learn with experience. The more you drive the car, you get a "feel" for the entire care and where it is in relation to things like the curb.5. Says: just make sure you can see everything.. alot of bad drviers out there.6. Says: Best Tip. Ask your Driving Instructor. That is why you are paying him.
