Why do the spark plugs for the Mazda RX7 look like the top of a Simon Says?

John Says: The plugs have multiple electrode to combat fouling. A rotary engine injects oil into the fuel mixture to lubricate the rotor and that system can foul plugs.

Yer D'thspicable Says: They also have to fit flush with the rotor housing to help provide a seal while not damaging it.
