What car to rent - I drive a grand am?
(2011-09-08 14:15:10) 1. Says: I will be renting a car out of the detroit metropolitan airport. What car should I rent ? I don't have much experience.I drive a 1994 pontiac grand am (4 door sedan, compact) at home and would like a car similar to that but have know clue (and they don't rent out pontiac grand ams so....).
Any experience with rental cars would be useful here.2. Says: Try to get one about the size of the one you drive now if possible so you will have plenty of leg room etc Make sure it has a good pumped up spare tire and jack since some dont or other renters dont mention they had a flat. The Insurance you have on your car now will cover a rental car since your the driver no matter what they try to tell you, its just an extra fee they try to get out of you.3. Says: Your Grand Am would be considered a mid size in todays rental market. Since you're not familiar with cars I'd suggest you rent a mid size from a company like Alamo or National that let you take any car in the garage labeled mid size. The keys are in them, you can sit in them to see what fits you, and then drive it away.4. Says: Chevy Cobalt. Great on gas, easy to park and drive. Same size as your Grand Am.
