Do radar detectors really work?

1. Juke box hero Says: Radar dectors used to detect police speed traps in particular. I live in texas, theyre legal to buy. I know people who have them, ive just never heard any stories.

I know if a cop sees you fly by super crazy fast, he can still pull you over, i just wanna kniw if the radar detectors work.

2. Michael Gourlay Says: Yes, they work, but be careful, there are a lot of crappy ones out there. You want either a Valentine One, Escort or Beltronics.

Theres a pretty expensive one about $200 and if u get a speeding ticket the company will pay the ticket and the insurance increase because its so sure u wont get one, idk the name of it my friend has one, and theyre real helpful and a good investment :) the cheaper ones work too but dont detect as far or accurate as the more expensive ones... Anyhow u should get one as long as ur sure its legal

4. D3R3K Says: I can answer this one. Yes radar detectors do really work.. Today I was leaving work and my radar detector picked up 2 motorcycle cops 6 blocks away. They had their gun pointed at my vehicle, but it didn't say that I was speeding, because of my radar detector! I can even hear it with my music blasting.
