1. Dayve Jonez Says: the dealer was going to charge me 1300 dollars. i moaned and told them i was going to report them. magically after this threat my bill was brough down to 480 dollars. the end result was that they did some work and charnged a tiny little part but it wasn't why i brought the truck in. my abs is still not working and my brakes are still pulsating and the repair the brakes lights are still on. is this how the world works if someone doesn't do the job right they still get paid?do i have any leverage?oh btw the service guy offered to take me out to drinks for all this.
2. Scott Says: Yes this is how the world works if you don't know how to fix things yourself. I personally cannot relate as I've been able to tackle every car problem that had arose. Like my dad's van, it had a similar problem, turned out one of the ABS wheel sensors was bad (causing the light) and had to replace a sticking brake caliper and hose. After putting it back together and properly bleeding the system of old fluid, it worked as good as new and never had problems since. It was easy as pie and it only cost him $100 for parts.
3. Stpaulguy Says: You should post this issue in either the politics or the whiners department.

The dealer told you 1,300. You told them you wouldn't pay that. So they did part of the work and now you're mad that they didn't do 1,300 worth of work for $480.

So either the dealership service department is dishonest and you should take your vehicle to a more honest shop. Or, you should give yourself an attitude adjustment that nobody should give you $1,300 worth of work for $480. Are you that good looking?
