2001 VW jetta air conditioner Question.?
(2011-09-20 14:15:09) 1. Says: I have a 2001 VW jetta VR6.Recently the air conditioner has stopped working. I dis-charged the system and recharged it and it worked fine for about a week.
While driving down the highway i hit a little bump and the air conditioner stopped blowing cold air and now only blows hot! and it's extremely hot air coming out.
I don't want to take it in because this isn't the first time it's happened2. Says: This sounds like a relay problem. You should do some google research (try VW tech forums) on this because many Passats and Jettas from the early 00's had a problem in the relay module, where the module melted under where the relays plug in. Get under the car and look at it from under the battery. The failure will seem like a bad relay but the whole module needs to come out. I hear this can be expensive, but it's good to arm yourself with information. Relays are notorious intermittent problems that can drive your crazy because they never appear on the day you have an appt with the mechanic. Tag: 2001 VW jetta air conditioner Question.?
