Whats wrong with my dodge?

1. Risa Says: I have a 96 dodge avenger with 2.5 it died on the interstate at 60 mph all lights went out they flickered on for a sec once it sat 4 a min it would dimly light the dash and headlights it turns over fast but struggles after it restarts dies when put back in gear?

2. dodge man Says: if it didn't break a belt on it the alternator just went out on it,that's how they,ll do when they go out,check it first to see if its got a belt and its still on the pulley and if it is have the alternator checked,good luck.

3. BIG NOT STUPID Says: Sounds like a combination of a dead battery and the alternator. When an alternator fails your car will run until the battery is dead. have it checked for a short in your electrical system also

4. Joseph Says: It may have thrown a drive belt that replenishies the battery. After sitting a dead battery can recharge slightly overnight and give you a weak start. Check the front right side of the engine with the round pulleys to see if all of them are being driven by a belt. o0k Risa
