Driving manual on an automatic transmission?

car dude Says: thats not why they are there no but yes you can do it...but it is not good for the car. Cars are made now with whats called "sport" mode allowing you to manually chose the gears, like driving a manual without having the clutch but on older cars it is there to help in certain conditions. For example in the snow you want the car to take off in first gear and stay there since you are driving really slow put it in 1st gear and go. But it is not meant to drive like a manual under normal conditions...i drove my grandam like this for 3 years...the tranny was slipping bad when i got rid of it!
