What is the squeaking noise coming from my car?

1. poof Says: This is for a 2007 Infiniti G35 with approximately 60k miles on it. I have been hearing this sound coming from the front driver side (left). It seems to start at around 80 kph, and continues to higher speeds. The squeaking frequency seems to pick up with speed, from a "squeak squeak squeak" to a whistle. As soon as I hit the brakes (lightly), the whistle becomes louder for half a second, till the point I depress the brakes harder, and it goes away. As soon as I start going again, the squeaking / whistling returns. This doesn't happen all the time though, and normally shows up when I'm on a longer constant speed stretch, rather than drives that have a lot of stop 'n go.

I showed this to my dealer, who at first thought that it was the brakes. They took a look at the brakes but didn't find anything wrong; I believe they even tried to reseat them. No love. I am not sure what to look at. There's nothing wrong with the drive, just the squeak/whistle that is driving me nuts. Can someone offer any clues?
2. Chris Says: I actually have this problem with my truck just havent felt like messing with it. It could be multiple things as in, your brake rotor is warped and while it's going around part of it touches the brake pad for a split second and causes a squeak or possibly a wheel bearing but other then the rotor idea I dont know. I'd have to fiddle around with stuff to find the problem.
3. kory with a k Says: If you push your brakes and the sound changes then goes away then its definitely your brakes. Doesn't always mean they are bad could be something dragging. Also the mechanic probably didn't feel like doin brakes that day. I would have them checked again somewhere else.
