Drag Racing Car Question?
(2011-09-26 14:25:17) 1. Says: http://fortmyers.craigslist.org/lee/cto/2589587573.htmlI am considering to buy a car like this(9-10 second drag racing car that is street legal). I will race it just for fun, so I wont do any additional upgrades. I dont want to build my own drag car because it costs a lot more. The car would be used for drag racing every second weekend. I have a few questions. (Just give me a good estimate, answers dont have to be perfect/exact)
How much does it cost to maintain such a car?
What parts have to be changed regulary?
Where can you get the car checked out if you think there is something wrong?
What kind of fuel would you have to use?
Could you use the best kind of fuel from a normal gas station for regular driving?
Where could you buy racing fuel? At a local drag strip?
How much does insurance cost for a 16 year old male with this kind of car?
Could I tell the insurance company just what kind of car it is, without telling them the modifications?
Thank You VERY Much2. Says: 1) Twice what cost a regular car (you dont even know what car you would buy)
2) Same as a regular car
3) You can get that service at a mechanic shop
4) It all depends on your setup, you can mix for street or race
5) Yes
6) Yes
7) Like 3 or 4 times regular car, and some companys will reject the car
8) They are not stupid, its a business.
If you want to run performance simulations to decide what cars, and more important, the extreme mods you need for the 9sec 1/4 mile (I guess you talk about that, because 9 at 1/8 is ... pointless), you can use a car performance simulator to virtually do anything like that.
