Improving power of my 94 corolla?
(2011-09-27 14:20:16) 1. Says: i have a 94 corolla dx, 1.8L standard. i was wondering, should i get an exhaust headers, intake, maybe some spark plugs etc..or should i just turbo it? i dont want to spend over a grand. is there a way to get a turbo for under $1000?2. Says: A corolla is an economy car, not a racer. The things you just named will add a total of 7hp MAX (except the turbo). If you get a turbo, you will be looking at 3-4k because of how complex it is. (labour, parts, new PCM,) If you upgrade the engine to extreme power, then the tranny cant take the excessive amount of power. Save your money for a better car that you really want.3. Says: You already have an intake and a cold air intake is a total waste of money on any car, but especially on a 1.8. You'll never get a turbo installed for under $1,000. Save your money and apply it to the car your really want. Or, keep that fantasy going, just don't tell anybody about it.4. Says: No way for the Turbo under $1k, you should think on $4k or around that. You can use a car performance simulator to virtually do mods to your car and find out where you feel cool with the performance, then do that on real life.
