(2011-10-01 14:15:07) 1. Says: 350 Chevy motor. Bored 30 over, 270 Cam, 600 holley carburetor, Turbo 350 transmission I know thats pretty good upgrades but what does it mean exactly?2. Says: It has a 350 cubic inch displacment engine thats been rebuilt and cylinders bored out (enlarged) .030" making engine 355 cid. now.with a 270 degree advertised duration camshaft and a 600 cfm (cubic feet per min) holley carb, and a thm-350 (turbohydromtic) 3 speed med. duty auto transmission
It's mild preformance upgrades
The overbore gives alittle more displacement and compression, the cam holds valves open longer and moves them fruther3. Says: Upgrades are good but you will have to smog this car if you want to register it in your name and this car has been modified to the point that it will not pass smog. The cam and Holley Carb alone will be the most obvious deal breakers to a smog inspector.
Unless you want to race this car and it will never see a public road or highway, then I say go for it. =)4. Says: It sounds like smart good upgrades . It should run well, get descent gas mileage and be dependable. It is totally dependent on your state laws about the smog situation. They dropped all of our regs a few years back. Before they dropped them I by-passed or removed most all of the anti-amog devices on my new cars to help with power and gas mileage. You just have to find an inspection garage that will let you slide, which I always did.5. Says: to what the first guy said not every state has inspection. im tired of seeing everyone say that when you dont know where the person lives Tag: 1983 Trans Am with 350 Chevy motor.
