My windscreen wipers have stopped working on the main switch but somehow I can use them if I turn my heater on?

It's important you take the ignition key out and have heater and wiper turned off before you start. With luck you may find a place where wires are burned or where there is mechanical damage. Do something soon because you really need wipers and if the shorted wires come apart you won't have any wipers which is dangerous and illegal.3.
