How much power would a cold air intake and e3 spark plugs make in a 94 camaro v6?

1. xxhunterxx1 Says: i was wondering if i could somehow squeeze a couple extra horses from the weak 160hp 3.4l v6 in the 94 camaro. what kind of gains would a cold air intake and e3 spark plugs have in the motor? 3hp, 8hp?
the question is not about whether the e3 plugs are good or not. i have seem them better than any other plugs in 3 other cars.

o and before you say it, i dont have the kind of cash to put in a v8, or be able to get insurance to buy a camaro with the v8 already in it. (16 year old)
2. mike i Says: Don't waste your money on the E3 plugs.
They are basically sales gimmicks.
They will do absolutely NOTHING on your car, period.

If your plugs are old, replace them with regular stock replacements.(avoid Bosch plugs, autolites are good and most others)

Spark is spark, big fancy plugs won't unleash any "mysterious" power from a relatively stock engine.
If you suspect that you're losing HP from adaquete spark, you should look into replacing your wires and coil instead, those can actually give you a higher voltage spark.
3. Robert Says: I agree with mike about the spark plugs, they will not add any power to your vehicle. As long as your injectors aren't clogged and are functioning properly at which time you have bigger issues than plugs, normal spark plugs will work just as good as the high dollar "fancy plugs".

Cold air intake may add UP TO 10 hp or so, but it probably wont be very noticeable. However it may increase fuel mileage a bit (1 mpg ish) if youre looking for that as a side effect.
4. chevyraceman_383 Says: The E3 plugs nor any other brand plug like that is going to gain you anything.

Over the last 13-15 years I have dyno and/or track tested every spark plug known to man... No power gains with ANY of the gimmick plugs. In fact quite a few loss power over a std. plug. Biggest one I can remember with out looking through my records was a customer's 340 HP 350 engine. Put a set of splitfire plugs in it cause thats what he wanted, HP dropped to 331 HP and had some strange dips in power curve along with a top end mis fire. Put a set of AC Delco R45TS plugs back in and power came back up to the baseline 340 HP. Also tried autolites and NGK V power and HP was same thing 340

In all the engines I build, sell, use, run, drive, race I always install 1 of the 3 plugs. They are the ONLY ones that have my trust for power, mileage, etc.
std. AC Delco
AutoLite
NGK V power

I use Ac delco's in most stock or mild engines. AutoLite AR plugs in high boost or nitrous engines, NGK V power when setting up a nitrous system as the gold color makes them easier to read for color and jet/time as needed, Std. Autolites for mild to wild engies and anything needing a 3/4" reach plug (aftermarket alum heads)

Your not going to gain much power at all with cheap mods. The cold air intakes are a joke for the most part

Headers and exhaust would be your best route right now, but thats $500-$700 worth of parts to gain 10-15 HP.

It's really hard to get power out of the 3.4L V6.

You could do a rear mount turbo system but thats $2500 and will gain you 50-65 HP.. At that price you could swap in a LT1 V8
