What is it like to drive an Aston vs a Porsche?

1. Alex R Says: Now I Love the Porsche 911s, ever sense I was 3 feet high, but now I also find I love the Aston Martin DB9 or DBS. Now I can't decide if I like porsches or astons better. So someone who has driven or ridden in both (or at least one of them) can you tell me what it is like? As I have yet to get such an opportunity. And if you have been in both, which one would you prefer. Serious answers now.
2. Mark K Says: I considered an Aston and took it on a brief test-drive before finally purchasing a 911 Carrera S. The Aston has more of a "club-like" feel in the interior while the Porsche seems more "clinical" and serious. In terms of the driving experience, the Aston feels more ponderous and heavy than the Porsche. The Porsche is nimble and the steering and braking feels much more precise and "exacting". In the end, I bought the Porsche. In the long term, I think I made the right choice because the Porsche will probably hold up better and have greater resale value. There are fewer Astons on the road which enhances their exclusivity factor but the 911 is really a performance icon and I have more faith in the competence of German engineering and build quality.
3. C7S Says: The Porsche 911 is faster, more practical, cheaper, more reliable, and handles better. But the Aston looks better and is less common. On the tv show Top Gear, they tested the Porsche 911 Carrera S vs the Aston Martin vs BMW M6. I just tried to find the clip on youtube but I couldn't find the entire clip. Just small parts. Basically the M6 and Aston went around the track with almost identical times, while the cheaper, less powerful 911 Carrera S went around 8 seconds faster.

Top Gear and other sources also always say that Porsche is better than Aston when comparing the two.

I have driven:

99 Carrera 6 speed
04 Carrera4 6 speed
98 Boxster 5 speed
03 Boxster S tiptronic
2000 Boxster 5 speed-My personal car
1990 911 Carrera 5 speed
And not that it really matters, but I also drove the Cayenne.
I wish I drove an Aston Martin, but I have not.

I know my answer seems bias since I am a Porsche owner. But one of my favorite cars is the Aston Martin Vantage and I would buy one if I had the money. But in reality, Porsche is better.
