I'm thinking about Y piping my exhaust.....?

(2010-05-26 23:52:14) 1. Jolly fellow Says: Ok so this is pretty ******, but i want to Y pipe my exhaust after the catalitic conv. On my 99 gti. It's a single output now and I want a 2.5" dual. I have access to all the exhaust piping, mufflers, etc. I can weld so is there anything else major I should know?2. Motorhead Says: No problem. In fact the 1988 GTI I have came factory just as you described.
When it rusted out, I went single pipe all the way, because it was cheaper.
But I think the dual pipe performed a little better. Sounded better anyway. Tag: I'm thinking about Y piping my exhaust.....?
