What can I use to clean my transmission oil pan ?

1. Mr Wilkinson Says: brake cleaner or Carburetor Cleaner?
Which one is better?
2. josh l Says: if ur changin hi mileage fluid for sum new u better watch out for sllippage. ive seen high mileage transmission fluid changes go bad.SOMETIMES that is. sum vehicles do jus fine runnin the same transmission fluid the rest of their life.wen i wanted to put a new filter on mine i just caught the old fluid and sifted the dirt out wit a rag and put the old back in cause ive seen what CAN happen. but not always
3. josh l Says: now this doesnt mean its gonna happen ive just seen it happen once in ablue moon.mayb 1 outta every 100 transmission oil changes.i wud recommend following ur manufactures transmission oil change dates tho cause wit some cars(specially 07/ newer id say) require u to change the fluid for extnded life
4. josh l Says: if uve never done it befor an you got over 200,000 miles i wudn even change the tranny fluid.hi mileage trannys are used to runnin on oil that is dirty and gritty.new fluid will be slippery to the old worn out bands and you'll experience slippin in the tranny
