My Car Need Spark Plugs, Wires, and a Tune Up????? The diagnostic said it has two Misfires?

College Girl Says: Is it okay to drive it... Im going to get it fixed on Monday!! But in the meantime, I have to go to work today, Saturday and Sunday. I only work 10 minutes away from home??? Its not gone catch on fire or anything is it??

billrocksu23 Says: It is not going to run well or may hesitate when accellerating, but it will not cause any permanent engine damage. As you said you just need a good tuneup. Just minimize thr driving till monday but a quick stop here and there will be ok.

bobweb Says: Just make sure to bring your cell phone with the number of your repair shop that has a tow truck. You should be able to check all your fluid levels yourself by reading the owner's manual. Have you checked your cold tire pressures lately? You'll be ok if you really care to know about your car and make simple checks before you drive it. Open the hood and talk to the engine. It helps, at least for me.

Nomadd Says: Reset the code and don't worry about it unless it's do for a tuneup anyway. A couple of stored misfire detections are meaningless. There's not really anything to tune up on modern cars and plugs usually last 100,000 miles now days.

bandit_60 Says: no it won,t catch fire. all it will do is miss while your driving and idling. don,t forget the distributor cap and rotor if you have a distributor.

G P Says: Yes its ok to drive, bad plugs or wires will cause that code to appear
