Is much gas lost when changing a fuel filler neck on a 96 Mazda b3000 (Ford Ranger)?
(2011-10-27 14:20:23) 1. Says: I have a big hole in my filler neck but I didn't notice it until after I gave her a fill up. I have the new part but is it hard to change and will a lot of gas spill out during the replacement? I have bad back issues so I can't do it myself but I don't want a mechanic to take advantage of the situation. From what I can see it doesn't look hard to replace. Thanks for any advice you can offer!2. Says: Its not too complicated, couple screws, hose clamp, grounding wire, and maneuvering of the filler neck, and unless the tank is overfilled you will not have to deal with fuel. Remember to disconnect the battery negative cable and of course if you smoke, dont do it while working on the tank.3. Says: let the gas run down to half a tank and there will be no fuel spillage.
