Is it possible to buy auto body parts pre-painted?

You can get used parts from a junkyard that will be painted, but it's hard to find the right color.I have had some customers that have bought parts over the internet and the had them painted before shipping, for an extra fee of course. The only problem with that was that, even though the company had the color code, the parts didn't match well at all. You could probably take your parts to a body shop and find out what they would charge to paint them for you, but it would likely be quite costly do so.
Might be best (and cheaper) for you to just install the parts on your car, drive it to a body shop and find out how much they would charge to paint it to match.4. Says: brand new ones are usually primered only. ready to be painted in an instant, but not yet painted.
you can of course buy used ones. junk yards and cars that brokedown or got wrecked but still have straight parts you want are pretty common.
you can usuasly find most vehicles ina junk yard and in most colors if you check enough junk yards. while sun and weather fading may make it impossible to find an EXACT match, you can usually get close enough.
when it comes to getting them painted, having them off the vehicle will probably get your best price.
but having them on the vehicle will allow them to blend in with the vehicle so the panels dont end up obviosuly a slightly different color.
the thing to keep in mind, the biggest part of the costs of having a car painted is not the paint or the spraying of paint, its the prep work.
sanding the panels so the paint will stick. removing or covering bumper and trim that doesnt get painted, covering the windows.
prep work is time consuming, but it doesnt require a high skill level. you can often save a lot by doing most of the prep work yourself. Tag: Is it possible to buy auto body parts pre-painted?
