2.2 ecotec swap 2.4 eco SS?

(2011-11-01 14:15:07) 1. insane Says: im wanting to swap engins in my 04 cav i have a 2.2 eco 5speed and wanna upgrade 2.4 eco SS. so what im asking is it possible to take a 06 colbolt (2.4 eco SS) and just add it in to my car also the tranni but possiable and what all will need?2. rabbit Says: yes and no. The engine should be easy to install the blocks are the same so you may have to swap over the mounts from the cav but they should all bolt up to the 2,4, The tranny will all so bolt up. The hard part is getting it to run, It might start and run with the 2.2 ecm because for the most part they are the same but it will not run right the fuel mapping and timing are different to get it to run right you will ether have to swap over the harness/ fuesbox/ every computer in the colbolt/ the ignition switch and I'm sure that's not all. Or you can get a stand along ecm/ harness and write a tuning map your self , all so not that easy if you don't under stand how this works, Tag: 2.2 ecotec swap 2.4 eco SS?
