How much should I ask car dealer to come down on price?
(2011-11-04 14:30:10) 1. Says: I am interested in a 2005 Dodge Neon SXT for $5,959.It has 114,180 miles on it, has cloth material, and was a local trade-in.
I have $2000 for a down payment so I need to get a loan for the rest.
I know that since I am not buying it flat out with cash, he will not come down as much as I want.
I was thinking about asking him to come down to $5,000 but I dont know if that is a ridiculous price.
Does anyone have any suggestions or advice?
Is $5000 too low?
How about $5500?
Thanks in advance.2. Says: Whether you pay cash or not has no affect on the price..In reality, the dealer might prefer the loan because it gives him some more negotiating room. You can never ask too low..
First thing you should do is check the blue book value at kbb.com..
Whatever the dealer price is, offer him $750 lower...Make him work with you..you're the customer.3. Says: You are in a stronger position because you are buying and there are tons of Dodge Neons to select from. Don't rush and don't appear too interested. For 114,000 km it does not hurt to try and ask for 10% off. In my area there is a Neon for sale for $5400 with 147,000km on it so it appears a fair price however you may get a deal just by asking. The dealer wants to sell and you want to buy so give it a shot. Also test drive and if possible ask for the car proof. Tag: How much should I ask car dealer to come down on price?
