Della Says: I'm thinking of doing a car boot soon to get rid of tons of stuff clothes, CD's etc (all of which are in good condition). What kinda prices do people charge for stuff like CD's, DVD's, books, clothes etc?

Justa Bloke Says: Goods are normally around a third of their retail value but price everything more as you will constantly be asked to take less anyway. It is a good idea to use small labels to price things as well because people will drive you mad keep asking "how much is this". Also another piece of advice... keep lots of your good items hidden until later in the day as lots of dealers pounce on you early in the day looking for bargains to resell on their stall and leave you with all the rubbish that you have trouble selling. During the day, place one or two good items on the stall and it keeps people interested and you are more likely to sell off the lesser items. If people want to knock you down tell them you will give a discount if they buy a couple of bits... that usually works! Lots of folk are regulars at boot sales and can spot a novice a mile off, just make sure you stand your ground and don't give quality items away too cheaply. Most of all, have a good day, it can be quite fun. Good luck.
