Brown colored coolant.?

(2011-11-19 15:20:08) 1. Special Ed Says: I'm pretty scared my coolant in my car is a brownish color like rust maybe. What can i do? also how bad is this should i be as scared as i am? I have a 2004 Dodge Neon Sxt2. Fox Riley Says: It would probably be rust if you only have water in the cooling system, what I'd do is flush the entire system and replace it with the correct water/anti-freeze mix because not only does the anti-freeze stop the coolant from freezing and possibly cracking the engine block, it also has corrosion inhibitors, and another thing, it doesn't matter if the engine is aluminium, it'll still corrode..
