Is it harmful to mixes 2 different gas in the tank of a car?
(2011-11-19 15:20:31) 1. Says: I have a credit card for shell & my mom has a card for Exxon, & we split the gas when we go out. So I'm mixing 2 type of gas.2. Says: no it wont do anything they say its good to always use one brand of gas station but different stations even of the same brand use different suppliers and some will change on a regular basis and you have no way to know so i wouldnt worry about it shell and exxon are both name brands not reforulated discount gas chains so your fine3. Says: It will make no difference. GO ahead and mix as many brands as you want. Your engine can't tell the difference.About mixing grades... it doesn't matter either, provided you still end up meeting the minimum spec that your car calls for. The station only has 2 tanks. one tank has 87 the other has 93. To make mid-grade they mix the two in the pump. Mixing is not an issue.4. Says: IN MY OPINION..........MIXING grades, DONT matter either. i've done it, and no problem.
but, no need to buy SUPER if you car is running fine on the cheaper stuff. like: 87 octane. most cars do run good enough on that grade.
............and try to always buy and use, a "name brand", if and only if, your car is ten years old or NEWER.5. Says: It's fine.
However, you should try to stick with the same grade (89, 91, or 93... whatever is available in your area).6. Says: as long as you are not mixing regular with super, if so just wait until you have let all the other gas out. But no it will not hurt anything if you are just using a different gas station7. Says: no.it wont affect anything. no worries but if you mix it with diesel then your screwed.8. Says: that's no problem, you might get a little better gas mileage with one ,but it sounds like you 2 put it in an go ,lol good luck9. Says: gas is gas it's just a brand it don't matter w3hat brand you use10. Says: won't hurt a bit.11. Says: try taking a piss in it Tag: Is it harmful to mixes 2 different gas in the tank of a car?
