Do you have to do an oil change on a flat surface?

Says: No. In fact, it is sometimes better to park the vehicle 'up hill' to help the oil drain better.Make sure you chock your wheels. Don't trust 'park' and/or parking brakes.3. Says: you should do it on flat ground or at least mostly flat if your car is clearly at a steep angle it will not drain all the oil but if its not that bad a little of the old oil will not hurt that much but I would pull to a flat place you can work safly if posable unless your oil plug is not flat on the bottom of the oil pan like thease guys seem to think4. Says: good idea to, but probably not that critical . Face the car so the oil pan has the best way to drain based on where the plug is5. Says: as long as teh drain plug is at the lowest point of the pan, being level makes no difference. Tag: Do you have to do an oil change on a flat surface?
