1. Bill Says: I lost 40miles after I added some fuel injector cleaner. wtf? I've refilled 3times since then.
2. Daniel Says: There are numerous conditions that can cause a loss of fuel mileage. Tire pressure being one of the most common, but can easily be fixed. Check your tire pressure.

Check your engine air filter. Clogged engine air filter can cause a loss of fuel mileage.

Contaminated fuel or poor fuel quality can cause a loss of fuel mileage. Did you refill at a different gas station than you usually do?

And remember, adding fuel injector cleaner doesn't instantly increase your fuel mileage. It cleans the injectors and fuel lines, which can actually decrease fuel mileage when the cleaner is in the fuel. After a couple fill ups though, you should see slight improvements depending on how dirty your fuel system was.

And changes in temperature, diving habits, winds, road conditions, all kinds of different circumstances can have effect on your fuel mileage.
3. Joheye Says: Check your tire pressure.

Adding fuel injector cleaner will reduce the mpg of that tank, because it will have the cleaner instead of just gas. But after it has cycled through it should go back to what it was, if not higher since it cleaned the fuel injectors. Make sure all the cleaner is out of your tank. Refill it when it is near Empty to insure this.
