Just put coolant fluid (not alot) in the brake fluid canister?

Says: Very! Depending on how much is a little. Your brake fluid is hydraulic fluid meant to be kept under pressure. It's a specific viscosity, or thickness, for that reason. You could easily do damage to your brake components depending again on how much you actually put it. Especially ABS.
