Auto chips does any one if they work as claimed,?
(2011-11-25 15:20:27) 1. Says: after market hp economy chips, do they work? as claimed? I have a 07 Dakota and it lacks fuel economy and hp, even though its fully tuned and it has only 150000 kms.2. Says: There IS such a thing, but there are many imposters out there. Your cars computer is designed to alter engine timing and fuel quantities to meet pollution standards and still provide power. The best thing to do is to flush your engine with de-sludger, use AMSOIL or Mobil One ( or some German oils) to reduce friction. Remove the factory junk Champion plkugs, and install a set of Bosch Fusion or Denso Iridium or Twin Tip plugs. THese will chemically burn more fuel completely and provide best power, economy and durability. Many German and Japanes cars can be reprogrammed,but I think Chrysler engines won't takle much change from what the factory has already done. There are $500 chips for german autos that really REALLY work on German cars!3. Says: The cheap Ebay chips dont work, they trick your sensor inputs to the computer and fool it to throw more gas and timing. It seems like more power, but in time it destroys your catalytic converter and there is no gain in power number really.You want to invest in good old Hot Rod ways to increase power. Better intake, better exhaust, better gearing, and a handheld tuner or Power Puck like a DiabloSport which is the new way to unlock power in computerized engine controls.
Tuners are the cheapest way to get the most power from your car for the money.4. Says: God knows what they do. But the best thing for performance or economy is a fine tuned engine and of course a sensible driver who knows how to drive the machine and where to keep the engine revs. The best thing is to stay within the power band.
