Cars for teenagers and families?
(2011-12-01 15:25:03) 1. Says: My mom is thinking about getting us a car, and she wants to make it so I can drive too, I am getting my license in August, so obviously its a ways away, but we are just doing research. I have looked at different sights for cars, but it's hard for me to tell what is true and what isn't and what good prices are.The car will be used, so we want something that is good quality.
-high gas mileage (19-20 mpg)
-4 wheel drive
-automatic
-4 passenger
-front wheel drive
-reliable in bad weather (we live in CO so the winters can be hell)
So ya, any help would be great from anyone who can speak from experience :)2. Says: 4WD car: Honda CRV no doubt about it. Amazing machine, also backed my Honda's reliability. The 2011 model gives 23.6 MPG which is great. I live in Ottawa (Canada) and the winters here is like hell. The average snowfall is around 1.2 Metres (which is appox 4 feet). And the car, (I have the 2010 model) is simply amazing! Even better is the Mitsubishi Outlander. Gives 24.3 MPG (2011 model) which is even better. Mitsubishi is known to have one of the best AWD systems in the world. My neighbour who is my great friend has one and he says it's great, I drove it once and I must admit it's better than my Honda. Both the CRV and the Outlander come in 2WD and 4WD. Also they both sit 5, not just 4.
Good luck choosing one :)3. Says: I think the Ford Escape fits all those criteria. It's primarily a front drive small SUV with a 4 cyl or a 6 cyl engine. It's based on a Mazda 626 floor pan. By 2008 all the bugs were worked out & it's a pretty reliable little SUV. Remember, If the winters are hell, step up the vehicle maintenance.4. Says: All the cars which are made nowadays meets your basic requirements. interms of reliability, I would either go for German makes or Japanese makes (except nissan), especially if you are gonna buy a second car which is more than 3 years old.5. Says: pick on a ford focus/just sold one with 237k miles and running good/no major problems and good on gas Tag: Cars for teenagers and families?
