Remove hub on 02 Mazda Protege5?

(2011-12-09 15:15:03)
1. TheSnoopy Says: I've been trying all night to get the hub off of the front drivers side and finally just gave up. I tried a universal puller which bottomed out as well as a bearing seperater that diddnt fit. Has anyone succesfully removed a hub on a Mazda Protege5? If so, how the hell do I do it?
2. idaho98076 Says: Here is what it says in the Chilton manual. Unfortunately it refers to Mazda mystery tools using just numbers.

Remove or disconnect the following:

Wheels
Halfshaft axle nut, Unstake the nut prior to removal
Brake caliper and rotor
Tie rod end from the knuckle
Control arm ball joint from the knuckle
Knuckle assembly
inner oil seal from the knuckle
Hub using a press and Mazda tools 49 G030 727, 49 G033 102 and 49 F026 103. If the bearing inner race remains in the hub, grind a section of the bearing inner race until 0.02 inch (0.5mm) remains and use a chisel to remove it.
bearing from the hub using a press and Mazda tools 49 F027 005, 49 F027 003 and 49 F026 103
brake dust shield, if it is being replaced. Mark the cover and knuckle for replacement purposes and use a chisel to remove the shield.
