About a popping noise in my stang?

(2011-12-14 15:20:04)
1. Ricardo Says: Its an 02 GT flowmasters, dropped .25. There's a popping noise and I just got the bearing and clutch replaced. The shifting and transmission is smooth as can be. Thing is that when I stop , my rpms drop a little below 1 and it starts popping until it goes back up a little above one. I know it's not bearing or clutch. What can it be? Sounds coming from around the clutch arra and around the center.
2. ChrisWF Says: That's the thing about FORD.

Not sure exactly. Could be... I dono, starter gears bouncing off flywheel?
Since you're probably not turning, we can weigh out cv joints.

Uhhh, sure it's not engine knocking? My first car was a Stratus, when I idled, that was the only time I could hear the knocking.

Checked your plugs lately? Could be... Small backfires? The unburnt fuel could be exploding on your hot exhaust/cat, (close to transmission?!), and making popping noises?
