2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo?

(2010-05-29 10:46:58) 1. Linda Says: I blew the engine in my 01 Jeep G.C. and I have a 1996 Jeep Cherokee that I want to pull the engine and use it. Just wondering if they are interchangeable or if I am better off just pulling it and rebuilding it. The blown engine has 300,000 miles on it (took very good care of it, oil change with top of the line oil and filter, new plugs, wires etc). The 96 has 150,000 and I have no clue on how it was treated.
Any help would be appriciated.
